Curt Schilling Opens His Pie Hole Again (Yawn)

By now you've heard about Curt Schilling's comments about New York sports fans during his regularly-scheduled appearance on WEEI up in New England. Schilling seems to believe that all of New York is rejoicing at the fact that the Patriots' Tom Brady suffered a season-ending injury last week. Come on, Curt, get real.

I just think it's so hilarious how sports fans in Boston, particularly baseball fans, seem to think that every single sports fan in New York has a rooting interest in the New York Yankees. I smile when I listen to sports talk radio and hear fans from the Boston area calling to insult talk show hosts whom they have no idea are actually Met fans. They'll call in and say something like "You guys think Derek Jeter is such a god," and I just laugh because the host they're talking to is actually a Met fan who could care less about Derek Jeter.

So, yeah Curt, the Yankees suck this year, but not every baseball fan in New York is frustrated about it. Just shut your pie hole! 

Yankees Can't Pull Out Tight Game

The sixth inning was the undoing of Mike Mussina and the New York Yankees. He gave up 3 runs and did not make it through the inning. He threw 51 of 71 pitches for strikes but just could not get the job done against the hated Red Sox.

Other than the one bad inning, the Yankees pitchers, including Mussina, looked good. Bruney and Hawkins each had scoreless outings.

The issue again was the Yankees hitting or lack there of. The Bombers only had 6 hits and again looked over anxious at the plate swing at too many first pitches. The loss of Derek Jeter can not be overlooked but this did not look like the team that led the league in scoring last year. The bats need to wake up and wake up now. They NEED to win tomorrow and get back in front of the Boston Beantowners.
