Reflections at the All Star Break

Going into the All Star Break, it is a good time to take stock in the Yankees, The recent media circus surrounding the Yanks, and to a larger extent A-Rod, has served to illustrate the human condition. Some of the most gift and talented individuals in history have been tremendously flawed. Alexander the Great, a great warrior and leader, suffered from great hubris. A-Rod in modern time, is a direct parallel. With all his talent and fame, it is plainly obvious that he has some major character flaws. Alexander's mighty empire eventually fell do to these endemic traits, could the same fate fall upon the Yankees?

A-Rod to Skip Homerun Derby Again

Alex Rodriguez believes participating in the homerun derby will hurt his swing so he will again forgo being in the event. Good for A-Rod sticking up for his team and himself by not going into a contest that means nothing and could hurt his chances of contributing to his team.

Kudos to A-Rod. That is what a leader does, puts his team first!
